We
welcome everyone with any level of experience, training or just interest
in NLP, from the vaguely curious to master practitioners and trainers.
We all have something to learn by exploring NLP related topics with like
minded people, be they practitioners, business trainers, coaches, teachers
or other people who may have heard a little about
NLP and just want to learn more.
Since we set up the group in 1996, we have met regularly in Colchester
and held practice and information workshops on a monthly or more frequent
basis. This probably makes us the longest continually running and independent
NLP Group in the UK. We are not aligned to or supported by specific NLP
training schools.
Our main aim is to provide a regular opportunity to review, develop and
practice NLP skills and understanding. The atmosphere is informal and
topics are pitched at a level that is understandable for all. Over the
years many newcomers have first 'cut their NLP teeth' with us. We like
to put emphasis on turning what we learn into practical use in our daily
personal or work lives. We also hold sessions of broader interest on related
topics.
Our group is one of a national network of NLP groups in the UK. For listings
and information on other groups see the Association of NLP ANLP
and British Board of NLP BBNLP
websites.
If
you are relatively new to NLP, click
to read a short introduction to NLP.
Our
events are public workshops that often can help individuals on their journey
of personal development. However please note that some of us are professionally
qualified and insured to help individuals with personal issues and can
arrange more formal private therapy sessions, if needed.
Click
here to see what range of topics we have covered in past years.
We
meet on the 4th Monday of each month (except
for late July/August, Christmas and bank holidays) at
the Friends Meeting House, 6 Church Street, Colchester
CO1
1NF (Click for map)
The Meeting House is in the centre of Colchester, close to the Mercury
Theatre and the Jumbo Watertower. Best parking is in St Mary's Car Park
just over the footbridge on Balkerne Hill. (N.B. Beware of parking on
the double yellow lines around there; the traffic wardens are pretty strict,
whatever the time of day or night!)
Meeting
room doors will open by 7.15 p.m.
Join us for tea/coffee, biscuits, etc, and networking before we start
the main session at 7.30. We aim to end at around 9.30.
For the time
being, we will continue to ask for a contribution towards costs of £5.00
per evening. (Concessions are available, please just ask.)
If you are not on
our email list and would like regular reminders and updates, drop us an
email and we will
add your name.
You can also join
the group at MeetUp.com http://nlp.meetup.com/147
where you can view profiles of some those who may be attending or promote
yourself.
Please call me if you would like additional details: 01473 326980 or my
mobile 07710 781782.

"2008
has been quite a year . . . and? . . . and 2009 . . . ?"
With all that
has gone on over the last year and all the doom and gloom thrust
at us, apparently from almost everywhere we turn, many people feel
they have good enough an excuse to act fearfully, helplessly and
are worried or unhappy. Oh dear!
The saying
goes 'The better it gets, the better it gets; or the worse it gets,
the worse it gets". Yes, however how do we learn or show others
how to thrive at all times?
This evening let's look at how we can use NLP attitudes and techniques
to change this, for ourselves or others. |

"Talk
With the Animals"
- Meet Pamela Gawler-Wright and Dibley!
We were delighted to welcome Pamela Gawler-Wright
of Beeleaf Institute
for Contemporary Psychotherapy back to Colchester this month.
Since an Arctic expedition with sled dogs, Pamela has longed to
add a canine colleague to her Psychotherapy practice and has found
the ideal talent in Dibley.
Pam and Dibley will demonstrate the ultimate in cross-cultural modelling,
where two physiologically contrasting species learn about the difference
and sameness of the sensory world they inhabit.
Taking NLP principles of meaning-making to a deeper level, both animals
can establish a common language for mutual enrichment. Non-coercive
dog-and-human training will be enjoyed and an experience of Animal
Assisted Therapy demonstrated.
Participants can instinctively absorb these principles and practices
to enlighten and enhance their own skills for communicating, teaching,
learning, managing state and motivating self and others to meaningful
relationships and excellent achievements.
**To honour canine etiquette and help establish a secure working environment
for the puppy, please avert your eyes from him until you have been
in the seminar room for some minutes. Thank you.**

As it is becoming a
bit of a tradition, we will have another NLP summer picnic this
year. It can no longer be at Brantham as we no longer live there
. . . however . . .
We will hold a late
afternoon NLP group get-together and picnic in the forest at Rendlesham,
followed by what will be a magical open-air performance
of The Winter's Tale, put on by The
Theatre in The Forest. Do bring frends or family.
During our picnic which
will be before the main gates open, there will be a director's talk
specially put on for us for us by Joanna Carrick and an opportunity
to meet the cast.
Red
Rose Chain are celebrating their 10th Anniversary in
the Forest this year. Do look at their website.
More details will follow,
but please register your interest as soon as possible as Iwill need
to arrange tickets etc in advance. Click
here to let me know how many people may be interested.
